MR.A.STELLING.
The funeral service took place at St. James’s Church, Grewelthorpe of Mr. Albert Stelling of The Bungalow, Grewelthorpe. who died in hospital aged 71 years. [born 1913].
The service was conducted by the vicar the Rev. A.Atkinson. The Rector the Rev. P.Garner also took part. Mrs E.Atkinson of Kirkby Malzeard was the organist. It was followed by internment in the churchyard.
Mr Stelling was a qualified electrician. Before his retirement he was employed as a civil servant by the Department of the Environment, where he was awarded the Imperial Service Medal for more than 30 years service. He also received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.
He was born in Grewelthorpe and lived most of his life in the village where his main interest was gardening.
