The Grewelthorpe Sports and Social Association is a local group of volunteers who give up a lot of their free time to support the local community and run events for the people of Grewelthorpe.
Family Swimming
9th June | Family Swimming 3.30-4.30pm. The GSSA invite you to one hours Exclusive use of Northallerton Swimming Pool including Flume, wave machine and toddler swim area. All this for £2 per person (2’s and unders free)
Important an adult must accompany children under 8 into the water, on a ratio of 1 adult to maximum of 2 children. Children over 8 must be confident in the water.
Own transport and meet in the pool foyer.
Why not meet afterwards at Macdonalds at Leeming Bar.

GREWELTHORPE GALA 2-4pm Saturday 6th July
This event will be held on the Village Green.
Our competitions are as follows:-
Fancy Dress (please meet at Loftys wall at approx 2pm) Theme – An Animal. Different age groups with 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes.
Decorated Wheelbarrow Theme Wildlife. Any age group 1st, 2nd & 3rd
The John Thorpe Trophy will be to design an Animal mask. Winner will receive the trophy to be kept for one year. Please bring to marquee on Saturday, for 10.45am. Judging at 11am
The Geoff Grimsditch Trophy will be for a Wildlife photo. Winner will receive the trophy to be kept for one year. (Please bring photos name on reverse to Linda Oldridges, Lake House on the Green, before Friday 5th July). The winner will be chosen by the public and announced on the day.
Pet Show please bring your pet to the Green at approx. 2.15pm 1st ,2nd & 3rd prizes.
Other events:- Children’s races and slow bike race. The Purple Play Bus. Egg throwing. Tug of War. Guessing games. Children’s tattoos and, nail art. Milk the cow. Pimms Tent. Tombola.
Delicious Teas served in the Marquee by Grewelthorpe Church
5 -aside football competition to be held at 4pm on Playing Field.
Evening BBQ on the Green in the evening, Please bring own food, chairs etc.
Award of prizes for the best sheep and lambs in the Sheep Trail.
We would be very grateful for the donation of Tombola prizes to be delivered to Liz Dixon, The Croft , and for Cakes, scones and biscuits to be taken on the day to the marquee or to Liz Witton before the event.

The GSSA is always looking for volunteers to help stage these events. You do not have to be physically active, we need ideas as much as energy!
