15th September and 16th September |The Ruin – Open days at the Ruin in Hackfall. In association with Heritage Open Days. The Ruin is a Georgian Folly that combines Gothic and Romanesque architecture. Perched dramatically above a steep wooded gorge, it is a feature of the mid eighteen century picturesque garden at Hackfall. From it’s terrace you can enjoy one of the finest views in Yorkshire.
Woodland Trust will be hosting guided walks on both days at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

How about trying something new? The G Club is aimed at primary aged children, and is held monthly on a Wednesday evening 6-7pm in Church during term-time. 24th September | Main Hall – 7:00pm Colours Fashion Show – Friends of Grewelthorpe school are hosting a ladies fundrasing fashion show. Doors 7pm, show 7.30pm with shopping afterwards. All clothes are high street brands (e.g. Coast, Wallis, Hobbs, wharehouse, phase eight, DP’s, M&S, Austin Reed) and are at least 50% cheaper than RRP! Tickets available from September 5th £5 from school office.

Where does an artist’s inspiration come from? What are the thought processes behind a work of art? Local artist Jane Burnley talks about what inspires her and what goes through her mind when she is creating a painting, a print or a piece of jewellery. Do doctors ever really understand us? How do you describe the indescribable? Retired GP Roger Higson talks about ways of using drama, poetry, art and cinema to explore what it means to be human.
Roger Higson was a GP in Masham for many years and was involved in training young GPs.
